Gable Steveson issues statement on UFC 331 loss, sexual assault arrest

Gable Steveson has broken his silence three days after UFC 331 .

Steveson (4-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) was viciously knocked out by Sean Sharaf (5-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) in just 12 seconds Saturday in Los Angeles, marking the first MMA defeat for the Olympic gold medalist. It was a shocking moment as he became the biggest betting favorite ever to lose a UFC fight, and it was only a small piece of what many considered a disastrous PR week for him.

Prior to the fight, Sharaf went personal at the pre-fight press conference when he brought up Steveson's 2019 arrest for sexual assault . He called him "The Loophole," which is a non-affectionate nickname online fans have placed on Steveson after the prosecutor of the case alluded to how a loophole in the law may have contributed to his innocence.
