Funeral of actress Brenda Fricker to take place in Dublin

Mourners including Brendan Gleeson and the musician Frankie Gavin have gathered at St Catherine's Church in Dublin to bid farewell to Oscar-winning Irish actress Brenda Fricker.
Fricker died at the age of 81 on 16 July at Our Lady's Hospice in Harold's Cross.
The funeral service is being held at St Catherine's Church on Meath Street in Dublin. It is being broadcast online and on the RTÉ News channel.
The service will be followed by a private burial.
President Catherine Connolly is represented at the funeral service by her aide-de-camp Captain Brian Clarke.
Welcoming everyone to the church, parish priest Msgr Eoin Thynne began today’s service by saying that Brenda Fricker did not want today to be about sadness but about celebration.
