The United Kingdom has laid out more than 25 separate visa and immigration pathways available to foreign nationals, including Ghanaians, covering everything from short holiday visits to long-term settlement.

According to the UK government, the appropriate route for any individual depends on why they are travelling, how long they intend to stay, and their personal circumstances.

Among the most commonly used options is the Standard Visitor visa, which permits stays of up to six months for tourism, family visits, or limited business activities, though it does not allow the holder to take up employment.
