NEW DELHI: The stage is set for the 18th Brics summit in New Delhi from September 12-13, with leaders discussing global governance, multilateralism, and the ongoing conflicts in West Asia and Ukraine.As the Brics chair, India has placed the global south at the heart of its agenda by seeking actionable solutions for food, energy, and supply chain security primarily to insulate the developing nations from the economic consequences of the conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia.The summit will kickstart on Saturday, with a closed-door meeting of Brics member countries at 2.35 pm on “Inclusive Global Governance and Strengthening Multilateralism”.Leaders will then visit the Bharat Innovates Exhibition at 4.25 pm, followed by the official family photograph and a joint tree-planting ceremony at 5.05 pm.
