Actors Andrew Benon Kibuuka has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Uganda Film Festival Awards gala, in recognition of a career spanning more than four decades in the country's theatre and film industries.
The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Executive Director, Nyombi Thembo presented the award during the gala on Friday, which brought together filmmakers, actors, writers, producers and technicians from across Uganda's creative sector.
“A celebrated Ugandan actor, playwright, director, and producer, Kibuuka has dedicated more than four decades to Uganda’s theatre and film industries. As a co-founder of the historic Bakayimbira Drama Actors, he has contributed significantly to the growth and development of Uganda’s performing arts,” Thembo said.
