Fugitive gangster Amrit Dalam extradited from Moldova, says Punjab police
Punjab Police have successfully extradited fugitive gangster Amritpal Singh, also known as Amrit Dalam, from Moldova. This marks the first time the state police have secured an extradition from a European country.

Punjab Police on Saturday (September 12, 2026) said that fugitive criminal Amritpal Singh alias Amrit Dalam, a key operative of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, has been extradited from the Republic of Moldova with the assistance of central agencies.
Mr. Dalam is wanted in multiple cases of murder, attempt to murder, Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), Arms Act and Narcotic offences, among others.
“This is the first-ever extradition secured by Punjab Police from a European country, marking a significant milestone in our fight against organised crime,” said Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yaday, asserting that the extradition was a breakthrough against transnational organised crime.
