Fuel support for families being reconsidered, PM says
The New Zealand government is reviewing whether to continue fuel price support for families as international oil prices fluctuate. Finance Minister Nicola Willis indicated that while the current scheme is tied to petrol prices staying above $3 per litre, officials expect future price spikes.

The government will get advice on Wednesday that will inform whether or not to keep the support for families affected by the fuel crisis.
But Finance Minister Nicola Willis said that does not mean the support will end, and she was keeping an eye on international fuel prices.
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Willis briefed media at their regular post-Cabinet briefing on Monday afternoon.
The news comes after Luxon announced on Sunday that National will extend paid parental leave to 30 weeks if re-elected into government. The party would also make it so parents could take their leave at the same time if they wanted to.
