FSSAI licences of nine restaurants in Telangana’s Medak, Kamareddy and Nizamabad suspended over food safety violations

The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) suspended the FSSAI licences of nine restaurants in Medak, Kamareddy and Nizamabad districts following inspections that uncovered several food safety and hygiene violations.
The action followed a special enforcement drive conducted by 10 teams. A total of 20 restaurants were inspected across the three districts on Tuesday (October 6).

According to TG SAFE, officials found houseflies, cockroaches, rodents and rat faeces at some establishments. Other violations included storage of expired food articles and spoiled vegetables, unhygienic kitchens, improper storage and labelling of food, poor drainage systems and inadequately cleaned utensils. Expired and contaminated food items were discarded on the spot.
