Fresh Russian strikes kill at least two people in Ukraine
France has pledged to supply Ukraine with additional interceptor missiles to bolster its air defenses following a series of deadly Russian strikes. Recent attacks across Ukraine, including a drone strike in Zaporizhzhia and a missile attack in Kyiv, have resulted in multiple civilian casualties.

Increased military support from Western allies is critical for Ukraine's ability to mitigate the impact of ongoing Russian aerial bombardment on civilian infrastructure.
President Emmanuel Macron today promised that France will deliver interceptor missiles to Ukraine, where air defences are running short after the latest round of deadly Russian attacks.
"It is crucial to provide Ukraine with all the necessary means to defend its skies and thwart this aggression," Mr Macron wrote on X, saying he had informed his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in a telephone call of "the strengthening of our support with the delivery of interceptors and the continuation of our cooperation".
In June, France agreed to allow Ukraine to produce French-designed cruise missiles, glide bombs, and air defense interceptors, marking the first time France had licensed the production of its weapons in Ukraine.
Then in July it said it would provide additional defence and missile systems it produces.
Today's announcement appears to be the fulfillment of that pledge.
