Fremantle Dockers star Murphy Reid most-voted player in 22under22 team while three West Coast players picked

Emerging Fremantle superstar Murphy Reid has led the way among voting for the AFL Players Association’s 22under22 team, while three of West Coast’s best young talents have also earned places in the side. On Wednesday, the AFLPA revealed 81 per cent of submissions for the fan-chosen team included Reid, who figured ahead of Hawthorn’s Nick Watson on 80 per cent as the most popular player in submitted sides. Having been selected in the forward pocket before winning the AFL’s Rising Star award last year, the 20-year-old has been placed on the wing in this year’s line-up. Meanwhile, West Coast star Harley Reid has been chosen as the side’s ruck-rover and Reuben Ginbey has been selected at centre-half-back, while first-year utility Willem Duursma figured on the interchange bench.
