Free webinars and a week of in-clinic brain health checks help New Zealanders get ahead of dementia this September

Age Brightly is hosting a series of free webinars and in-clinic brain health checks in New Zealand throughout September to mark Dementia Awareness Month. The initiative aims to educate the public on the link between hearing, cognition, and healthy aging.
Why it matters
Proactive screening and education can help individuals identify early signs of cognitive decline, potentially improving long-term health outcomes.
Age Brightly is running a free four-part webinar series throughout September, New Zealand's Dementia Awareness Month, alongside a new partnership with Bay Audiology bringing free hearing checks and cognitive screenings to Bay Audiology's Ponsonby clinic for a full week. Together, the two initiatives aim to raise awareness of the important connection between hearing, cognition and healthy ageing, while encouraging New Zealanders to take proactive steps to support their brain health at no cost.
The webinar series is hosted by Age Brightly founder Hannah McQueen alongside Lead Geriatrician Dr Cheryl Johnson, Brightly Health Coach Shelley Smith, and Brightly Head Nurse Madelaine Young, and is free and open to all New Zealanders.
