On the first day of the school year, September 1, all passengers of Rīgas satiksme buses, trolleybuses, and trams will be able to use public transport for free, the Rīgas satiksme company reported.
At the same time, it will not be necessary to register the trip. This opportunity is provided by the mandatory rules of the Riga City Council regarding fare discounts.
Additionally, with the start of the new school year and the end of the summer season, Riga's public transport will gradually transition to the autumn schedule.
