The long-running rift between the family of late constitutional lawyer and opposition adviser Dr Alex Magaisa and his widow has reportedly deepened after his son, Anotida, was buried in the United Kingdom without the family’s knowledge or presence.
Anotida, an emerging fashion designer and poet, died in the United Kingdom earlier this month following heart-related complications. He was recently laid to rest in Kent.
His burial, reportedly conducted without the knowledge of the Magaisa family in Zimbabwe, has exposed a family dispute that sources say has remained unresolved since Dr Magaisa died in 2022.
According to sources close to the family, relations between Dr Magaisa’s relatives and his widow, Shamiso, deteriorated following disagreements over where the prominent lawyer should be buried after he succumbed to heart failure.
