Four workers were hospitalized after inhaling toxic gas while cleaning an underground sewage line in Theni, Tamil Nadu. Two of the workers required transfer to a government medical college for advanced treatment.

Four workers were hospitalised on Thursday after inhaling toxic gas while cleaning an underground sewage line in Chinnamanur Municipality in Theni district.
The workers were engaged to clear a blockage in the underground sewage line at Ponnagaram of Chinnamanur Municipality. The workers have been identified as Prashanth, Syed, Balamurugan, and Kamesh.
After they inhaled the toxic gas, they became breathless and were immediately rushed to Chinnamanur Government Hospital. Balamurugan and Kamesh were referred to Theni Government Medical College Hospital for further treatment.
