Four medical establishments in Hyderabad were issued show-cause notices after joint inspections by the EAGLE Force and TG SAFE found discrepancies in records concerning the purchase and sale of habit-forming medicines.
The inspections, carried out following inputs from Central intelligence, covered pharmacies in Masab Tank, Mallepally and Tolichowki. Officials checked compliance with requirements governing the purchase, storage and sale of regulated medicines, including Schedule H and H1 drugs.
At Al-Hamra Medical & General Store in Masab Tank, officials found that prescribed schedule registers had not been maintained and sale bills concerning certain habit-forming medicines, including Tapentadol, Alprazolam and others, were either not maintained or produced for verification.
At MM Medical and General Store in Mallepally, operating as MED24 Pharmacy and General Store, officials found deficiencies in prescribed registers and non-production of sale bills relating to Pregalyv 75. The Schedule H1 drugs register and sale bill book were also not produced.
