Jongkuch Kur Jongkuch died on August 1, days after he was allegedly assaulted at Bahrs Scrub.
The Redbank Plains man was found unconscious with critical head injuries on Orchard Avenue by police on July 26 after reports of an out-of-control house party at nearby Discovery Boulevard.
Eight teenagers — aged 17 to 19 — have been charged with murder.
Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said the Organised Crime Gangs Group was involved in the investigation but would not confirm if the alleged attack was gang-related, or what weapons were allegedly used.
