Four-lane highway proposed to connect Kakinada deep-sea port with NH-216

Kakinada District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad on Wednesday directed the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to finalise to align the four-lane greenfield road proposed to be laid between the South Gate of the Kakinada deep-sea Port and Uppalanka in Kakinada district.
The five-kilometre-long stretch has been proposed to connect to the NH-216, thereby minimising the 22-kilometre distance to reach the Kakinada deep-sea port from Samarlakota and saving at least 30 minutes of travel time for the commuters.
