Four killed, one injured as car rams lorry near Anandapuram in Visakhapatnam district

Four persons were killed and another sustained grievous injuries after the car in which they were travelling reportedly rammed into a lorry near Sattaravu Junction on the Anakapalli–Anandapuram Highway under the Anandapuram police station limits in Visakhapatnam district in the early hours of Sunday.
According to the police, the accident occurred at around 3.30 a.m. when the car, travelling from Narasaraopeta to Tekkali in Srikakulam district, allegedly rammed into a moving lorry, resulting in a severe impact.
The deceased were identified as P. Ramanjaneyalu (50), Sheikh Meeravalli (56), M. Bhavani Shankar (11), and M. Srinivas Rao (50). Bhavani Shankar’s father M. Chandrasekhar sustained serious injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Anandapuram police rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. The bodies were shifted for post-mortem examination.
