Four occupants of a car were killed after the vehicle rammed an omni bus from behind on the Tiruchi-Chennai national highway at Thuraimangalam in Perambalur town in the early hours of Thursday (September 24, 2026).
A group of seven persons were returning to Chennai from Mudukulathur in Ramanathapuram district after attending a wedding when the fatal accident occurred at around 2.30 a.m., causing the death of four persons and injuring three others.
The police identified the deceased as R. Prabhakaran (30) of Rasikulam in Ramanathapuram district, K. Kaleeswaran (25), K. Surya (35), and her husband A. Karthi (38), all of whom hail from Orivayal in Ramanathapuram district.
