The Kozhikode Town police on Sunday (August 30, 2026) arrested four persons in connection with an attack on a police officer with a syringe during a routine inspection near Mananchira Square here on Saturday (August 29, 2026) night.
The accused were identified as Rajath, 38, Benny Lloyd, 48, Nandakumar, 25, and Abdul Shahim, 22. The police took them into custody following a late-night search launched after the incident.
According to police sources, the attack took place around 8 p.m. when a Town police team was conducting an inspection at the Mananchira Square. The police noticed a six-member group in a suspicious circumstance and approached them for interrogation.
