Four from Haryana arrested for impersonation, malpractice in IAF clerk recruitment exam

Four individuals from Haryana were arrested for cheating during an Indian Air Force clerk recruitment exam in Avadi. Two suspects were caught impersonating candidates, while the others used hidden wireless devices to receive assistance.
Why it matters
Exam malpractice undermines the integrity of public sector recruitment processes and national security-related hiring.
The police arrested four persons from Haryana for allegedly impersonating candidates and using wireless devices while appearing for an Indian Air Force (IAF) clerk recruitment examination held at Avadi on Sunday.
The examination was conducted to fill four clerk posts, with around 1,000 candidates appearing for it. Police sources said that while checking the candidates’ hall tickets, IAF officials noticed that a hall ticket carried the name and photograph of a candidate identified as Aman Kumar. However, the person who appeared for the examination did not match the photograph.
Suspecting foul play, the officials detained and questioned him. During the inquiry, they found that Gaurav, a native of Haryana, had allegedly impersonated Aman Kumar and appeared for the examination on his behalf.
