The foundation stone laying ceremony for the proposed airport in Mamnoor, Warangal of Telangana , is likely to be in December. Tenders for award of the air transportation infrastructure project would be invited within two weeks, and finalized by December.

This was assured by Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu when Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with him in New Delhi on Wednesday (September 2, 2026) to request works on establishing new airports at Mamnoor and Adilabad to be expedited.

The Union Ministry was urged to take steps to speed up works, especially at Mamnoor, as the State government has completed acquisition of land related to the airport.
