Fossils Uncover Deep-Sea Fish Origins

Yale researchers have developed a new method to study deep-sea fish evolution by analyzing fossilized teeth found in ocean sediments. This technique allowed them to identify the genus Cyclothone in the fossil record dating back 55 million years, significantly earlier than previously thought.
