Formula 1 driver Liam Lawson is set to receive significant car upgrades for the upcoming US Grand Prix in Austin. The Racing Bulls team is focusing on floor, sidepod, and engine cover improvements to boost performance.
Why it matters
Technical upgrades in F1 are critical for competitive positioning, and this move highlights the team's strategy for the final races of the season.
Liam Lawson will receive a significant boost for this month’s US Grand Prix in Austin, with Racing Bulls set to bring a significant upgrade package to the Circuit of the Americas.
Following back-to-back seventh-place finishes in Malaysia and Singapore, Lawson will be on the receiving end of three new upgraded specifications, according to F1Ingenerale, reporting from Racing Bulls’ team base in Faenza.
Those upgrades are understood to be for the Racing Bulls’ floor, sidepods and engine cover, and are expected to be the final modifications to this year’s VCARB03, before the team switches focus to developing its package for 2027.
The upgrades to the sidepods in particular are expected to be of great use in Austin, given the Circuit of the Americas’ high-speed layout.
