Former Principal among four booked in ₹24-lakh job scam in Madurai

The Anna Nagar Crime Branch has booked four individuals, including former American College Principal Davamani Christober, over an alleged ₹24-lakh job racket promising positions like college clerkships.
The case was registered at the Anna Nagar Crime Branch police station here on Saturday based on a complaint lodged by S. Kirubakaran, a resident of Yagappa Nagar, Madurai.
The accused named in this case are Christy Jeevagan, his wife Regino, Vasanthi, and Davamani Christober, the former principal and secretary of The American College.
According to the complaint, Christy Jeevagan and his wife Regino were introduced to Kirubakaran’s family through Vasanthi during the previous DMK regime. It is alleged that they built trust by claiming to have close ties with key DMK functionaries, including those in the top brass.
