Former Panchayat president shot dead in Mudarangadi

David D’Souza, a former Panchayat president, was shot dead by two assailants in Mudarangadi, Udupi district. This marks the second such targeted killing in the region within a week, prompting a police investigation.

In second of such incidents in Udupi district in a week, contractor and former president of Mudarangadi Gram Panchayat David D’Souza was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne assailants in Pilar of Mudarangadi Gram Panchayat on Friday.
On July 31, businessman Richard Mascarenhas was allegedly shot dead by one Derrick Crasta in Kundapur town.
