Former MLA urges govt. to expedite land acquisition for third reach of Vattiyurkavu junction development project

Former Vattiyurkavu MLA, V.K.Prasanth alleged on Wednesday that the land acquisition for the third reach of the Vattiyurkavu junction development project has been delayed after the United Democratic Front (UDF) government too over. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] leader said in a statement on Wednesday that the land acquisition process for the Mannarakkonam-Nettayam-Vazhayila stretch in the third reach was in the final stages under the previous Left Democratic Front (LDF), but it has slowed down in the past few months. He said that the delays in the third reach could make the entire junction development project ineffective and called for the State government to expedite the process. The relevant government notifications for land acquisition as well as the environment impact assessment for the third reach have already been completed. However, the change of government happened when land acquisition was in the final stages.
