Former employee among seven held for stealing ₹18 lakh from staff of steel factory
Police in Korattur have arrested seven individuals, including a former employee, for the robbery of 18.8 lakh rupees from a steel fabrication unit staff member. The suspects were apprehended after the former employee provided inside information to his associates to execute the theft.

The Korattur police have arrested seven persons, including a former employee of a steel fabrication unit, for allegedly robbing ₹18.80 lakh from a staff member. A total of ₹7.25 lakh of the stolen cash has been recovered from the suspects.
According to the police, Umar Farooq, 40, who runs the steel fabrication unit in Korattur, had instructed his employee Ranjith Kumar, 45, to collect ₹18.8 lakh from his brother’s house in Padi on July 25. While Ranjith was returning with the cash on a two-wheeler, six masked men intercepted him at TNHB Colony, and threatened him with knives, before fleeing with the money.
