Former diplomat Navdeep Suri has raised concerns over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll underway in Punjab after he was served a notice saying his details do not match.
Mr. Suri, who served as India's Ambassador to the UAE and Egypt and High Commissioner to Australia, on Sunday (August 23, 2026) took to X to express his anguish.
"Dear @ECISVEEP, sharing my experience with #SIR in Punjab. Went to BLO, submitted a Voter Card and Aadhaar Card, and was assured that everything was in order. Got a message today from a volunteer saying some details don't match with SIR in 2003!" he wrote. He said he spoke with the booth-level officer (BLO), who told him to collect the notice.
