Former Director General of Police V. Vaikunth passed away here on Friday. He was 89.

In his career spanning over 35 years, Vaikunth served the Tamil Nadu police in various capacities. He served as the DGP of Tamil Nadu in 1995. He was a recipient of the President’s Police Medal for meritorious and distinguished service.
