Former National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) Chief Executive Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba has asked the High Court in Accra to strike out most of the criminal charges against him, arguing that the charge sheet is so defective it denies him the constitutional right to a fair trial.
In an application filed on 13 July, Abdul-Wahab asked the Specialised Court to dismiss 16 of the 20 counts brought by the Republic, describing them as vague, duplicative and lacking sufficient detail to enable him to prepare a defence.
The case, The Republic v Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba & Faiza Seidu Wuni (CR/0530/2026) , is before the High Court’s Specialised Court in Accra.
Abdul-Wahab, who pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned on 15 May, faces charges including stealing, defrauding by false pretences, wilfully causing financial loss to the state, using public office for profit, intentional dissipation of public funds and money laundering.
