Former A-G was subpoenaed, says Tabung Haji RCI member
Tabung Haji chairman Abdul Rashid Hussain has refuted claims by former auditor-general Madinah Mohamad that she was denied a chance to testify before a royal commission of inquiry. He stated that she was subpoenaed but refused to testify under the commission's one-on-one witness rules.

KAJANG: A member of the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) that investigated Tabung Haji (TH) has challenged former auditor-general (A-G) Madinah Mohamad's claim that the RCI never summoned her to testify.
Abdul Rashid Hussain, who is now TH chairman, said the commission had in fact served Madinah with a subpoena.
However, he said she asked to attend proceedings with then financial audit division deputy director Mona Othman, which the RCI rejected.
"During RCI proceedings, we examine witnesses on a one-to-one basis. So we did not allow her (to testify with Mona)," he said at a public dialogue on TH at Tenera Hotel & Suites here.
Rashid was among six members of the RCI led by former chief justice Raus Sharif.
