Foreign delegations express interest in King Oyo’s burial
Tooro Kingdom in Uganda is preparing for the burial of King Oyo, with international delegations and other monarchs confirming their attendance. The kingdom is coordinating with protocol teams to manage the influx of foreign visitors.

As preparations for the burial of Tooro King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV gain momentum, the kingdom has said it has received notifications from foreign delegations expressing interest in attending the burial.
The late Omukama Oyo will be laid to rest on Saturday, September 12, at the Karambi Royal Tombs on Fort Portal-Kasese Road.
“In Tooro culture, we don’t invite people for burial, but we have delegations that have already confirmed that they will be coming. We have a delegation from Nigeria, who will be arriving in Uganda. Others are in touch with their embassies and other protocol teams,” the Tooro Kingdom premier, Mr Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire, said yesterday.
