The food safety licence of a restaurant near the Vijayamangalam tollgate in Perundurai taluk was temporarily suspended following an inspection on Friday (October 9, 2026) that found unhygienic conditions.
According to a press release issued by the district administration on Saturday (October 10), a team comprising the Designated Officer and Food Safety Officers inspected the restaurant’s kitchen, food storage and sales areas and found them operating under unhygienic conditions. Officials also seized around 60 packets of popcorn being sold without complete food safety labelling information.
