The Andhra Pradesh BJP has asked its cadre to focus on the upcoming local body elections, strengthen the organisation at the grassroots and intensify public service activities as part of its Seva Sankalpa Abhiyan.

Addressing the State office-bearers’ meeting in Guntur on Friday, party State president P.V.N. Madhav said the BJP should work towards strengthening the “double-engine government and triple-engine growth” model by taking welfare and development programmes to the people.

He said the Seva Sankalpa Abhiyan, scheduled from September 15 to October 17, should involve every party worker and cover about 46,000 booths across the State. Workers should participate in at least two service activities, including cleaning water bodies and improving local surroundings, he said.

BJP national co-organisation general secretary Shiv Prakash stressed coordination among party leaders, NDA partners and government representatives, with particular emphasis on preparations for local body elections.
