The Flying Squad handed over the seized cash to the Dharapuram Tahsildar and Returning Officer Ramalingam.
Officials suspect that the cash was meant to be distributed to voters, and that wad of currency could have been thrown out by any of the campaign teams of political parties during vehicle checks undertaken by the Flying Squad.
