Fly to any tourist, pilgrimage centre across India from Madurai
VIL Aviation has launched a new helicopter service in Madurai to facilitate faster travel to pilgrimage and tourist sites across India. The initiative aims to boost regional tourism and potentially establish Madurai as a maintenance hub for aviation.

Flying to any tourist spot or pilgrimage centre across the country from Madurai is made possible, thanks to VIL Aviation that has launched its helicopter operation in the Temple City on Thursday.
Thiagarajar Mills Managing Director K. Hari Thiagarajan inaugurated VIL Heli Station, which is its operations base, located at Nagarathinam Angalammal Arts and Science College near Madurai Airport.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Hari said the new facility would give impetus to the growth of tourism industry in southern Tamil Nadu.
“Helicopter services will save time ... as a pilgrimage from Madurai to Sabarimala with same day return is now possible,” he said. Recalling that he had used VIL helicopter services a couple of times in the past, he said the helicopter travel was safe with experienced pilots who could handle the chopper in hilly regions and during inclement weather conditions.
