Five snakes rescued in Hyderabad on Naga Panchami
Five cobras were rescued in Hyderabad after being held captive for public display during the Naga Panchami festival. Animal welfare organizations are providing medical care to the snakes before releasing them back into the wild.

The Greater Hyderabad Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the People for Animals jointly rescued five cobras from the Old City, which were being held captive and shown around for money on the occasion of Naga Panchami on Monday.
Three of the five snakes were rescued from Shalibanda, and two from Moghalpura, a statement informed.
All five rescued cobras were taken for medical examination and treatment during which two cobras were found fit for release, while two more required about 10 days of medical support and observation. One cobra, however, is in critical condition and receiving necessary treatment, the statement said.
