The Muslim Students Federation (MSF) Kasaragod district committee appears to face an organisational crisis after five key office-bearers resigned en masse, alleging that the district president and general secretary were taking unilateral decisions without consulting the district council or other office-bearers.
Those who resigned include treasurer Sarfaraz Banthiyod, vice-presidents Jamsheer Mogral and Murshid Mogral and secretaries Bilal Arikadi and Ansar Vorkady.
The simultaneous resignation of the five senior functionaries has triggered concerns over the functioning of the district unit.
The immediate dispute reportedly centres on the appointment of a district representative to the MSF State committee. The resigned leaders alleged that the district president and general secretary bypassed decisions taken by the district council while proceeding with the appointment.
They further alleged that the name of former district general secretary Savad Angadimugar was deliberately excluded from consideration for the post despite the district council’s decisions.
