Five IPS officers transferred in Tamil Nadu; Thoothukudi, Sivaganga SPs swapped

The Tamil Nadu government has ordered the transfers and postings of five IPS officers with immediate effect.
According to a Government Order issued by the Home Department, M. Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Armed Police, Tiruchi, has been posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Home Guards, Chennai.
The post of Additional Director General of Police/Director of Civil Defence & Additional Commandant General, Home Guards, Chennai, has been downgraded to facilitate the posting. The cadre post of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Armed Police, Chennai, has also been revived, the order said.
R. Shiva Prasad, Superintendent of Police (SP), Sivaganga, has been posted as SP, Thoothukudi, in place of Abhishek Gupta. Mr. Gupta, who was SP, Thoothukudi, has been transferred and posted as SP, Sivaganga, in place of Mr. Prasad.
