Five people were injured in two separate incidents — one involving the bursting of a transformer at Benniganahalli and another a ring main unit (RMU) on Bagalur Road — in Bengaluru, officials said.
The first incident occurred around 12.30 pm on October 6 near the Coca Cola godown at Benniganahalli, within the limits of Ramamurthy Nagar police station.
Four persons — Narayana, 50, Azeem Pasha, Chethan, 23, and Lakshmi, 22 — sustained injuries in the incident. The injured persons, who are from different parts of Bengaluru, are undergoing treatment in a hospital, police said. A motorcycle was also damaged.
Ramamurthy Nagar police have launched an investigation into the incident.
A Bescom official said, “We have visited the injured persons. We will bear all expenses for their medical treatment.”
