Five persons who were arrested in connection with a murder case were detained under the Goondas Act in Dindigul district on Wednesday.

On August 31, S. Karanraj a resident of Mullipadi Mondiyapatti was murdered in Ayyankulam in the district by a gang due to previous enmity. Five persons were arrested in connection with the murder case and remanded in judicial custody.

The arrested have been identified as C. Kumaresan, B. Yogesh, P. Saravanapandi, M. Chandru and M. Madhavan. Under these circumstances, they were detained under the Goondas Act and are currently lodged in Madurai Central Prison.
