Five booked in Hyderabad for using fake, tampered number plates

The Hyderabad Traffic Police has registered five criminal cases in the past week against motorists allegedly using fake, tampered or unauthorised registration plates, amid a rise in citizen complaints.
Police said the special enforcement drive was aimed at vehicles with fraudulent number plates being used to conceal identities and evade traffic enforcement. Multiple vehicles were also seized during the operation.
The cases were registered at Jubilee Hills, Malakpet, Begum Bazaar, Abids and Kachiguda police stations.
