First phase of Census to be carried out in the Nilgiris from August 1
The Nilgiris district administration has announced the first phase of the 2027 population census, scheduled for August. Residents are encouraged to use a new web portal for a self-enumeration process before enumerators visit their homes.

The Nilgiris district administration said the first phase of the population Census 2027 will be carried out from August 1 to 30 in the district.
The district administration said a self-enumeration process has been launched that enables the public to register their household details through an official web portal - https://se.census.gov.in
“In The Nilgiris district, the first phase of Census work, comprising House Listing and Housing Census, will be carried out for 30 days from August 1 to 30 . Prior to this, the self-enumeration process will be conducted from July 17 to 31,” a press release from the district administration stated, urging the public to use the official website to fill in the required details for a self-enumeration ID.
