Fire at naval quarters at Kacheripady in Kochi

A fire broke out on the 10th floor of an unoccupied flat in the naval quarters at Fernson’s Apartment in Kochi. Firefighting teams from local services and the Indian Navy successfully managed the incident with no reported casualties.

A fire broke out on the 10th floor of the naval quarters at Fernson’s Apartment on St. Benedict Road at Kacheripady here on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 4.30 p.m, in an unoccupied flat. Firefighting operations were initiated by personnel from the Club Road station of the Kerala Fire and Rescue Services, according to a release.
They were assisted by firefighting teams from INS Venduruthy and INS Garuda. No injuries or casualties were reported. The cause of the fire was currently under investigation, it said.
