Film studios shun women, but men make them less money, report shows

A new report shows films written by women make the most money but the budget often goes to male filmmakers.

The Frontiers in Communication paper analysed 200,000 films released between 1994 and 2023.

Experts say creative women should be given more chances, and government screen agencies could do much more to pursue fairness and stamp out discrimination.
