Ferguson 'getting closer' to Brighton playing return

Republic of Ireland international Evan Ferguson is "getting closer" to a return to action after an enforced injury absence, according to Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler.
The 21-year-old missed a significant portion of last season with an ankle injury, a setback which cut short his loan deal with Serie A club Roma, where he scored five goals in 22 games.
Following ankle surgery in March however it has been a slow road to recovery for the striker.
Brighton opened the season with a 4-0 win over Aston Villa before a 4-3 defeat at Chelsea last time out, with Ferguson still working his way back to fitness.
It was thought that an early October appearance was a realistic target, but speaking ahead of Saturday’s Premier League visit of Leeds United, Hurzeler said there is no date set for his reintroduction.
