Felda investment arm ex-CEO claims trial to two cheating charges

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Mohd Zaid Abdul Jalil has claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to two counts of cheating the company's board of directors (BOD) involving a proposed commercial development project and the valuation of 24 plots of Felda-owned land, 12 years ago.
Mohd Zaid, 55, pleaded not guilty to both charges after they were read out before Sessions Court judge Rosli Ahmad on Tuesday (Sept 29).
According to the first charge sheet, Mohd Zaid, in his capacity as the CEO, was accused of cheating FIC’s board into believing that Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd was eligible to be appointed as the Project Delivery Partner Master Developer for a commercial development on Felda lots in Jalan Semarak when he knew the company was only eligible to be appointed as a the Project Delivery Master Planner only.
