Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has clarified that his party's cooperation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is restricted to parliamentary matters and does not amount to a political alliance at the grassroots level.
Fazlur Rehman said the two parties were working together only within Parliament and that their current understanding should not be considered a formal political partnership.
He made the remarks during a visit to the residence of veteran journalist Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami in Lahore on Sunday.
Discussing relations between the federation and the provinces, the JUI-F leader said the issue was closely connected with the National Finance Commission (NFC) award.
