Fashion photographer held with suspected MDMA in Kochi

A fashion photographer was arrested in Kochi after being found with 38 grams of MDMA and over ₹15 lakh in cash. Excise officials suspect the individual was supplying synthetic drugs to students and members of the film industry.

The Ernakulam Excise squad arrested a fashion photographer with 38.13 grams of suspected MDMA and over ₹15 lakh in cash from Kakkanad.
The arrested is Arun K. Nair, 34, a native of Pampady, Kottayam. The Excise team intercepted the car he was travelling in and seized the contraband and cash.
Deputy Excise Commissioner P.K. Satheesh told the media that the department suspected that the accused had been supplying narcotic substances to youths, including students, and those in the film industry. “He was an agent involved in drug sales and was also a drug user,” the officer said, adding that the suspected synthetic drug was procured from Delhi and other north Indian States.
